In a personal God who created and sustains all things. In Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God and our Savior.

Abdele F. George, at the tender age of four, often stood in front of the mirror with a broomstick in one hand, and a Bible in another, imitating his childhood Pastor.

It was in the summer of 1976, that Pastors Robert L. Lister, and Jonathan A. Thompson, pastors of the Jamaica and Springfield Gardens SDA Churches respectively

It is my delight and pleasure to welcome you to the website of the South Ozone Park Seventh-day Adventist Church.

We Believe

  • In a personal God who created and sustains all things. Hebrews 1:1-3
  • In Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God, and our Savior.  John 1:1-3,14
  • In the Holy Spirit, the divine Comforter. John 15:26
  • In regeneration and new birth experience through acceptance of the gospel. John 3: 1-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God. 2 Timothy 3: 16,17
  • In the second coming of Christ; and that it will be literal, personal and visible to all. John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11
  • That man by nature is mortal. Job 4: 17; 1 Timothy 6: 15, 16
  • That immortality and eternal life are the gift of God and are received through Christ at His coming. Romans 6: 23
  • The dead, both righteous and unrighteous are in an unconscious state.  Ecclesiastes 9: 5; John 11; 11, 14.
  • That there will be a resurrection of the dead.  1 Thessalonians 4: 16, 17.
  • That hell will be a literal fire where the wicked will be consumed and forever cease to exist.  Malachi 4: 1-3; Revelation 20: 14
  • That salvation is God’s gift to all who accept Christ as their personal Savior. Ephesians 2: 8
  • The Ten Commandments is God’s moral law, and is the standard of righteousness by which all mankind will be judged. James 2: 10-12; Exodus 20: 3-17
  • The seventh day is the Sabbath, and Christians are obligated to keep it holy. Genesis 2:2, 3; Luke 23: 54, 56
  • In baptism by immersion. Mark 1: 9, 10; Romans 6: 3-5.
  • The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and should not be defiled by unhealthy practices.  1Corinthians 3: 16, 17.
  • In the gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of prophecy.  Ephesians 4: 8-11; Revelation 12: 17; Revelation 19: 10.
